PROGRAM OBJECTIVE
The Qualified Behavioral Health Specialist(QBHS) Training Program is designed to equip participants with the foundational knowledge, skills, and competencies required to effectively support individuals with mental health and substance use disorders. By completing this program, participants will
develop proficiency in therapeutic communication, crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, ethical practice, and cultural competency.The program aims to prepare participants for real-world application
through a combination of intensive training and hands-on shadowing experiences, fostering the ability to
provide compassionate, informed, and effective care within community behavioral health systems.
TYPE OF INSTRUCTION
The QBHS Training Program employs a blended instructional approach, incorporating a
mix of lecture-based learning, interactive group discussions, case study analyses, role-playing exercises, and hands-on practice.This multi-modal instructional strategy is designed to engage participants in both
theoretical and practical aspects of behavioral health care, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of core concepts and their application in real-world settings. Additionally,self-care practices are integrated into the
curriculum to promote the well-being of participants, recognizing the demanding nature of behavioral health
